Dev tools I
actually use.

Blacktip is my personal lab for developer tools. Everything here is free, open where possible, and shipped because I needed it myself first.

BlackScope

One scope. Every signal.

Monitor

soon

Every server. One glance.

No more tab-switching between dashboards. BlackScope streams live metrics from every service in your stack — CPU, memory, disk, network — into a single real-time view.

  • Docker, PM2, nginx and system metrics in one place
  • Live CPU / memory history on every service
  • Self-hosted, no data leaves your box

Alerts

beta

Know before it breaks.

BlackScope watches your services and surfaces what actually matters — failed health checks, restarts, slow queries — in a single alert feed with severity at a glance.

  • Unified alert feed across services
  • Severity-coded, timestamped events
  • Wire it to Discord or a webhook

Logs

beta

A timeline you can read.

Every service's log stream lands in one place. Structure and filter across nginx, containers, PM2 and system — no log-scraping archaeology required.

  • Unified live log stream
  • Per-service color coding
  • Works on install, no agents per tool

What I do

One person, a lot of side quests.

Run the infra

Self-hosted servers, nginx, PM2, PostgreSQL, monitoring, backups — the whole stack.

Build the tools

Web apps, dashboards, Discord bots, and APIs that solve problems I run into daily.

Keep it self-hosted

No third-party SaaS lock-in. BlackScope is built to run on your own box, not someone else's cloud.

Share the process

Roadmaps, failures, and learnings are public. Code is open source when it makes sense.

Pricing philosophy

Why everything is free.

I don’t ship software to extract money from you. I ship it because I enjoy building, because it makes my own life easier, and because a free tool in the wild is worth more than a perfect one in private.

I built it for myself first

Every tool started as a fix for my own workflow or server. Once it works, sharing it is the easy part.

No VC, no ads, no tracking

There’s no investor pressure and no data to sell. If you use it, you’re the user — not the product.

Open source by default

When a project is stable enough, I open it up. Issues, PRs, and forks are welcome.

Funded by side income

Servers cost money, but hobby income and occasional donations keep the lights on. No paywalls.

Let’s talk

Want to collab or say hi?

I’m always open to feedback, bug reports, feature ideas, or just hanging out. The fastest way to reach me is Discord.
